Steve Durie is an artist, lecturer and media systems designer. He has worked on numerous individual and collaborative projects involving digital media, installation, web art, music and performance, and has exhibited in the The Whitney Museum, Walker Art Center and Ars Electronica. Mr. Durie is one of the founding members of C5 Corporation, an art/business hybrid enterprise focused on theoretical models of information and data visualization. Steve has also worked in collaboration with public artists like Mel Chin, Ann Chamberlain, and Buster Simpson. As a digital media producer he has worked with clients like Apple, Fujitsu, Lumileds, Hewlett Packard, Broderbund and filmmaker Peter Adair. Steve is a Lecturer at SJSU’s Art and Art history and is currently working with artist Jonathon Keats on “The Future of Democracies Project”. This interdisciplinary project is a research space dedicated to the investigation of methodologies and technologies for collective decision-making to address the myriad challenges that face our current democratic climate.
